The village of  Dolná Krupá lies about 10 km north-east of the regional town of Trnava. APIMED company headquarters is situated not far from the local manor house, which is a dominating feature of the village.

The village of Dolná Krupá is known far beyond the borders of Trnava region as a village of music and roses. The most familiar legend is connected with the name of the music genius Ludwig van Beethoven, who visited the local manor house several times between the years of1800 – 1806 . This classicistic manor house belongs to the most beautiful examples of rural classicistic architecture in Slovakia. In the area of the manor house there is an installed exposition in the memorial of Ludwig van Beethoven, which documents  the relationship between the composer and the owners of the manor house family Brunswick.

Another from the areas which has made the name of the village famous in Europe, but also overseas was cultivating of roses. The magnificent rose garden of countess Mária Henriet Choteková had, according to the catalogue form the years 1926 – 1929 more than  5 000 roses. The owner of the rose garden became an acknowledged expert on a paneuropean scale. Root grafts from her rose garden became known as Northlandroses (Nordlandrose), which thanks to their endurance found their place in the countries of a colder zone
